Member Spotlight - Paper Tacos

Tell us about your company and/or your products.

Paper Tacos is a greeting card company that celebrates Latino culture by being authentic and bringing a sense of humor. We create Spanish, English (and sometimes Spanglish) cards that reflect the traditions, food, and familia many of us grew up with. Our goal is to make cards that feel like home.

What's your role at your company?

I'm the founder, illustrator, creative director, and honestly...sometimes the one packing orders too. It's a small but mighty team, and I lead the vision, design, and strategy behind everything we do.

Why did you become a GCA member and tell us about your GCA experience so far.

I joined GCA to connect with others who understand the unique challenges and joy of working in the card industry. It’s been an incredibly welcoming community, and being part of Noted and other GCA events has really helped me grow as a maker and business owner.

What inspired you to get involved in the greeting card industry?

I started Paper Tacos after realizing there weren’t enough cards out there that represented people like me, my family, and our culture. I wanted to create something that felt authenticsomething you’d be proud to give to your abuelita or your amiga.

What's something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?

I used to teach university courses in UX and Design before going full-time with Paper Tacos. I still love teaching, and I hope to return to the classroom one day when the time is right. But, for now my focus is Paper Tacos.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Earlier this year, Paper Tacos was featured on Shark Tank, and we landed a deal with Mark Cuban. It’s been a wild ride since then, and I’m more excited than ever to bring culturally rich products to even more people.
