The Power of Regret

At this year’s annual Workshop & Retreat, Many Voices-One Community, we once again hosted a morning book club to kick off our second day. From the outside, reading seems a passive activity – but in reality it is vibrant, alive, and one of the most important ways to reflect, learn, and grow. This year we discussed Daniel Pink’s The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves Us Forward. Differing points of view were brought to the table, from those who felt you can only regret what you do to those who felt you can only regret what you don’t do. Whatever camp you fall into, one thing was made clear: we can brush off our regrets and learn nothing, or we can embrace them and advance.

There is one other option…avoid those regrets altogether, and GCA members are dodging regret left and right by planning ahead for next year! If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up so you don’t regret missing out on the valuable opportunities on the horizon:

  • Renew your membership for 2023 by December 31, 2022 to avoid any gap in your member benefits.
  • *Noted: The Greeting Card Expo co-located with SF NOW is over 50% sold. Reserve your exhibit space today and join us April 27 & 28, 2023 in San Francisco.
  • Over 540 cards were entered into the Louie Awards competition in our first two weeks accepting submissions! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get your cards in front of the industry’s top makers and buyers – and onto the shelves of retailers across the country. Enter your cards today!
  • Regret missing the Workshop & Retreat? You can still purchase session recordings, some individually, or all as a package.
  • Participate in a *Noted Village at one of the industry events we’ve partnered with to offer GCA members affordable exhibit space this winter in Dallas, New York, Atlanta, or Las Vegas. Email us [email protected] if you want more information on any of these shows! Some of them are close to being sold out.
